Kisses at Kirribilli House
- Date:
NSW Premier Barry O’Farrell got a taste of the Prime Ministerial life when he attended the World MS Day Red Tie Cocktail Party at Kirribilli House on Wednesday 30 May. His wife, Mrs Rosemary O’Farrell, was guest of honour at the event and one of many fine speakers throughout the night. Attendees were treated to an evening of gourmet food and drink, music, socializing and most importantly, fundraising.
Kathryn Robinson, from Ten’s Breakfast program, was an impeccable MC and went so far as to donate a kiss on the cheek to one gentleman for a $100 donation! When a lunch with NSW Health Minister Jillian Skinner was auctioned off for $2000, Kathryn made light of the seemingly unjust difference in value. As it happens, Mrs. Skinner had volunteered in her daughter’s tuck shop when Kathryn was still in school, so it was an amusing reunion of sorts.
The suitably named Casanova’s Kiss provided an excellent musical backdrop for the Kiss Goodbye to MS event, and no one left the party without a “lipsticker” on their outfit. The party rolled on to the nearby Kirriblli Hotel, where everyone was disappointingly well-behaved. Special mention must go again to Kathryn Robinson who stayed up far beyond her bedtime, considering she has to get up at 3am for breakfast television!
